NOTICE OF ELECTION

 FOR HB 1562 AND HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION FOR DISABLED CITIZENS

 TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF PIKE COUNTY, GEORGIA:

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 3rd day of November, 2026, an election will

be held at the regular polling places in all of the election districts of Pike County at which time

there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Pike County for their determination of the

following question:

 ( ) YES     Shall the Act be approved which increases the homestead exemption for totally disabled residents of Pike County to $15,000.00 for all totally disabled residents, $17,500.00 for all totally disabled residents 70 or older who have resided in the county for five to nine years, $22,500.00 for all totally disabled residents age 75

( ) NO       or older who have resided in the county for 10 to 19 years, and $30,000.00 for all totally disabled residents age 80 or older who have resided in the county for 20 or more years?

            The ballots to be used in said election shall have written or printed thereon substantially the question set forth above. The several places for holding said election shall be at the regular and established voting precincts of the election districts of Pike County, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date fixed for the election. The last day to register to vote in this election will be October 5, 2026.

             Those residents of Pike County qualified to vote at said election shall be determined in all respects in accordance with the election laws of the State of Georgia. 

            This Notice is given pursuant to the Resolution of the Board of Commissioners of Pike

County calling for the referendum through the Joint Board of Elections and Registration of Pike

County, whereby said Resolution was duly approved by the Board of Commissioners on July 28,

2026.
